Terms of Service

The agreement between you and Vikom Media for using Zip Mail. We’ve tried to keep it short and readable.

Effective September 27, 2026 · Last updated September 27, 2026

1. Agreement

These terms are an agreement between you and Vikom Media (“Vikom Media”, “we”, “us”) for your use of the Zip Mail apps for iPhone, iPad, Mac and Apple Watch, the Zip Mail account, the push relay and related services (together, “Zip Mail”). By installing or using Zip Mail you agree to these terms and acknowledge our Privacy Policy. If you don’t agree, please don’t use Zip Mail.

If you live in a country whose consumer laws give you rights that can’t be limited by contract, nothing in these terms takes those rights away.

2. Who can use Zip Mail

You must be at least 16 years old if you live in the European Economic Area or the UK, and at least 13 years old elsewhere, or older if your country requires it. If you use Zip Mail on behalf of an organization, you confirm you’re authorized to accept these terms for it.

3. The service

Zip Mail is an email client. It connects to mail accounts you already have with other providers, such as iCloud, Gmail, Fastmail or Yahoo. We are not your email provider: your mail is stored and delivered by your provider under its own terms.

Most of Zip Mail runs on your device. Optional services, such as instant delivery, Send Later through the relay, settings sync and the image proxy, run on our servers and require a Zip Mail account. The security overview describes how they work.

4. The beta

Pre-release versions of Zip Mail are distributed through Apple’s TestFlight. Your use of TestFlight is also subject to Apple’s terms. If you use a beta:

  • It is provided for testing and may be incomplete, contain bugs, or lose settings or local data. Keep your mail with your provider and don’t rely on a beta as your only way to reach important mail.
  • Features may change or be removed, and some described on this website, including instant delivery, may not be available yet.
  • Beta builds expire, and we may end the beta at any time.
  • Beta access is free. Any feedback you send may be used as described in section 11.

5. Your Zip Mail account

You sign in to your Zip Mail account with a passkey, Sign in with Apple or a one-time email code. Keep your devices and passkeys secure; anyone who can unlock them may be able to use your account. Tell us promptly at support@zipmail.app if you believe your account has been compromised. You can review and remove your signed-in devices in the app.

6. Your mail accounts

When you add a mail account, you confirm that you’re allowed to access it. When you turn on a relay feature for a mail account, you authorize us to connect to that account on your behalf, only to provide the features you’ve turned on, as described in the Privacy Policy. You can withdraw that authorization at any time in the app or with your provider.

Your mail providers are independent of us. We aren’t responsible for their outages, limits, changes to their services, or their handling of your data, and a provider change may stop a Zip Mail feature from working.

7. Free and Pro

  • Free. Zip Mail’s on-device features are free to use.
  • Pro. Zip Mail Pro is an auto-renewing subscription that adds relay features such as instant delivery and the image proxy. Prices and features are shown in the app before you buy.
  • Billing through Apple. Subscriptions are sold through the App Store. Apple charges your Apple Account, and renewal, cancellation and refunds are handled by Apple under its terms. Subscriptions renew automatically unless you turn off auto-renew at least 24 hours before the end of the current period, in your Apple Account settings.
  • Trials. If you start a free trial, it converts to a paid subscription at the end of the trial unless you cancel. We’ll tell you in the app before the trial ends.
  • When Pro ends, Zip Mail keeps working with the free features. New mail is then checked on a schedule rather than delivered instantly, and we’ll say so clearly in the app.
  • Price changes take effect only at renewal, with the notice required by Apple and applicable law.
  • Withdrawal rights. If you’re a consumer in the EU or UK, your statutory right of withdrawal for digital services is handled through Apple’s App Store refund process.

8. Acceptable use

You agree not to use Zip Mail to:

  • send spam or unsolicited bulk mail, or phishing, malware or other harmful content;
  • access mail accounts you aren’t authorized to access;
  • break the law or infringe other people’s rights;
  • interfere with, overload or disrupt our servers, or get around rate limits, device checks or other security measures;
  • probe or test our systems for vulnerabilities, except in line with our disclosure guidelines;
  • reverse engineer our servers or access our services other than through the Zip Mail apps, except where the law allows it.

We may suspend relay features for an account that is being used in a way that harms Zip Mail, other users or mail providers. Where reasonable, we’ll tell you first and give you a chance to fix the problem.

9. Your content

Your mail, drafts, attachments, signatures, snippets and settings are yours. You give us permission to process them only as needed to provide the features you use, as described in the Privacy Policy. We don’t use your content for advertising or to train AI models.

10. AI features

Summaries, suggested replies, extracted details (for example on receipt, package or flight cards and in Business and Tax) and importance sorting are generated automatically and can be wrong. Review drafts before you send them, and check extracted amounts before relying on them, for example for tax purposes. Zip Mail doesn’t give legal, tax or financial advice. Optional cloud AI extras are off unless you turn them on.

11. Our software

We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use Zip Mail on Apple devices you own or control, in line with these terms and the App Store’s Usage Rules. Zip Mail, its design and the Zip Mail name and logo belong to Vikom Media. If you send us feedback or suggestions, we may use them without owing you anything.

12. Apple

These terms are between you and Vikom Media only, not Apple. Vikom Media, not Apple, is responsible for Zip Mail and its content, maintenance, support, warranties (to the extent they aren’t disclaimed), and for handling any claims about Zip Mail, including product liability claims, claims that it fails to meet legal or regulatory requirements, consumer protection or privacy claims, and intellectual property infringement claims. Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support. If Zip Mail fails to conform to an applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price, if any; to the extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation. You confirm you aren’t located in a country subject to a U.S. Government embargo or designated as a “terrorist supporting” country, and aren’t on any U.S. Government list of prohibited or restricted parties. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you.

13. Availability and changes

We work to keep Zip Mail fast and reliable, but we can’t guarantee it will always be available or that mail will arrive within a particular time. Delivery depends on your mail provider, Apple’s push service, your network and your device. The “about 1–3 seconds” figure for instant delivery is a typical target, not a guarantee.

We may change Zip Mail over time. If we remove a significant paid feature, we’ll tell you in advance, and you can cancel your subscription through Apple.

14. Ending the agreement

You can stop using Zip Mail at any time and delete your Zip Mail account in the app. Deleting the app alone doesn’t cancel a subscription; manage that in your Apple Account settings.

We may suspend or end your access to our services if you seriously or repeatedly breach these terms, if required by law, or if we stop offering Zip Mail. Where reasonable, we’ll give you notice and a chance to export your data. Sections 9 to 11 and 15 to 18 continue after the agreement ends.

15. Disclaimers

To the extent permitted by law, Zip Mail is provided “as is” and “as available”, and we disclaim implied warranties such as merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. Beta versions are provided without any warranty. This section doesn’t affect statutory rights you have as a consumer that can’t be excluded.

16. Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, Vikom Media isn’t liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for loss of data, profits or business, arising from your use of Zip Mail. Our total liability for any claim relating to Zip Mail is limited to the greater of the amount you paid for Zip Mail in the 12 months before the claim and CA$100.

Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that can’t be limited by law. If you’re a consumer in the EU or UK, we are responsible for foreseeable loss caused by our breach of these terms or our negligence.

17. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of British Columbia and the federal laws of Canada that apply there, and disputes will be handled by the courts of British Columbia. If you’re a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country where you live and may bring proceedings in your local courts. Before starting a formal dispute, please contact us so we can try to resolve it informally.

18. General

  • Changes to these terms. We may update these terms. For material changes, we’ll give you reasonable notice in the app or by email before they take effect. If you don’t agree, you can stop using Zip Mail and cancel your subscription.
  • Export. Zip Mail uses encryption and is subject to export control laws. You agree to comply with them.
  • Assignment. We may transfer this agreement as part of a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, and will tell you if we do. You may not transfer it without our consent.
  • Entire agreement. These terms and the Privacy Policy are the whole agreement between us about Zip Mail. If part of these terms is unenforceable, the rest stays in effect. Not enforcing a term isn’t a waiver of it.
